At the end of April, our lodge sent 3 teams to the 75th Annual NYS Elks Bowling Tournament hosted by the Vestal
Lodge 2508 in Vestal, NY. As always a good time was had by all. A few notable finishes from the squad:
Out of 129 teams, Yorktown 1 (Jimmy Pruner, Ellen Pikula, Mark Delpezzo Sr., Bob Cole) placed 2nd,
Yorktown 2 (Mark Delpezzo Jr., Jason Enriquez, Todd Dooley, Tony Iavicoli) placed 3rd and an
honorable mention to Yorktown 3 (Steve Monaldo, James Frayne, Tom McCoskey, John
Brookhouse).
In the doubles division, out of 248 teams, Delpezzo Sr. and Delpezzo Jr. placed 8th, Dooley and
Enriquez placed 11th, and Iavicoli and Frayne placed 37th.
Finally, in the single division, out of 468 bowlers, Frayne placed 60th, Pruner placed 83rd and Monaldo
placed 94th. The “Monaldo Entourage” once again put the boys to shame at the Lodge Saturday evening.
Looking forward to next year in Rochester, NY, and we are working on forming a 4th team to enter as well.
